Another great week of sewing classes! I hope everyone is enjoying it so far. I still have space available in the Saturday morning Sewing Essentials Adult Class from 9:00-10:00 and the Kids Can Sew & Fashion Too Class from 11:00-12:00...so if you're interested you're not to late to join in.
A few of you have asked for a list of basic sewing tools. Next week I will be posting a sewing kit wish list along with a few of "My FaVoRiTe ThInGs"....it will be great Christmas ideas for your little seamtresses!
Isn't that too cute? In the "Happy Happy Halloween Pillowcase" class we will learn how to make custom pillow cases. This is a PERFECT class for a beginner. Use your creativity to make the perfect gift for your friend, mom, aunt, neighbor, or teacher. I'm keeping this to a one day workshop to help some of you with your busy schedules. I have this class set for Saturday, October 15th from 1:00-5:00. Grab your friend who has no clue how to sew and drag her here. Tempt her by telling her I plan on serving pumpkin bread and coffee. Oh--I can't wait! Shoot me an email or call if you plan on coming--the sooner the better since it's only two weeks away!
Enjoy this beautiful weather!

Our first week of sewing classes went great! Even though my voice was a wreck -(I've been fighting a sinus infection over the last week) I was still able to teach. It was great to meet you newbies and of course catch up with my repeat students. Just a reminder, try and arrive a few minutes early. Also, there's no need to come to the front door--you can enter on the side door entrance.
This Saturday is the "Pillowcase Dress" workshop from 1:00-4:00. This is a great beginner's class for all you ladies who can't commit to coming each week. We will go over the machine basics...and then straight into cutting out and completing the dress. If you are interested shoot me email or call (704-443-1597) to reserve your seat. The cost of this class is $30.
Thank you all again for making this so much fun! It's such a blessing to be able to teach something that I love as much as sewing! Have a wonderful week and I will see you in class!

Okay Ladies, I'm very excited about this Fall's sewing session!!! We're finishing some of the last touches with the new sewing studio and I can't wait for you all to see it!
If you are planning on sewing this Fall, remember the Registration Deadline is August 22nd. One week away!
Not sure about you, but I have lots of sewing projects going right now...to many that have been left undone for far too long. I'm hoping to finish a few and share them with you soon!
Here's a little sneak peek of one of the projects I'm finishing this week:
Much more to come on my lastest projects, tutorials and the like! For now, I've got to get back to preparing this school year for my second grader!
If you're on Facebook, don't forget to LIKE Thimble Bee's Sewing School...and if you are so inclined, I would love to see some of your latest sewing projects--so feel free to post some pics on Thimble Bee's Facebook Fan Page!

As you know our Summer Sewing Session is getting ready to begin! But, before I announce our Summer Schedule, I wanted to formally make a much BIGGER and SWEETER announcement--the birth of our baby GIRL! Some of you already know--but for those who do not, Katelyn Joy Taylor arrived on March 14, 2011 weighing 8lbs.. 1oz!
I've taken some time off to enjoy this special time with my family. During this break from teaching I've had some time to reflect about my vision for Thimble Bee's and my family as well. I have decided in order to accommodate the growing sewing school and also give my family the priority it needs; I will be adding a new sewing instructor starting this Fall. This instructor will teach the majority of the Kids Can Sew Classes and I will continue with the Adult Classes as well as some of the kids/teens classes.
In addition to adding an instructor this Fall, I am also pleased to share that we are renovating the Sewing Studio! Instead of entering through the front door and climbing the stairs to access the studio--you will simply enter through the first floor side door. This should make it much easier on everyone. I can't wait to reveal our new place--cool, young, and fun! Until the renovation is complete we will still hold our summer classes in the original sewing studio.
Also, look for an invitation to the "Meet and Greet"--a time to check out the new place, meet the new instructor, and if you're new to Thimble Bee's--meet me! A few other changes, some of you may have missed, our classes now last one hour each and the monthly tuition has been reduced to $40 per month! See the Summer Schedule below. To reserve a seat in class please send me an email/phone call for registration.
And to those of you who are interested in the (((GIVEAWAY)))--I am giving away one free month of sewing lessons! To enter--you will need to post our link (www.thimblebees.webs.com) on facebook/twitter--or you can "Like" us on Facebook! The giveaway will end on June 8th. I will send out an email on the 9th announcing the winner!
*You can view class descriptions on the website or feel free to call for more info! 704-443-1597
